Glen Johnson, a former Chelsea player, has informed winger Callum Hudson-Odoi that his time at the club is over.
He advised the England player to stop squandering his time at Stamford Bridge and instead seek a move to a club like Newcastle United, where he would be able to play every week.
Hudson-Odoi broke into Chelsea's first team in 2018 and has since appeared in over 100 games for the Blues.
However, he only started 11 of the club's 38 Premier League games last season, and with the arrival of Raheem Sterling, the 21-year-old now faces more competition at the club.
And Johnson, a former Blues defender, believes Hudson-time Odoi's at Chelsea is up.
He [Hudson-Odoi] has spells where he appears unplayable, and then he has days where he appears unfit to play in the Premier League.
If he gets his head straight, I believe he has a lot to offer, but I believe his days at Chelsea are numbered. He's still young, but he's got a lot to learn from me.
He needs to play football every week, so going somewhere like Newcastle, where he is taken out of his comfort zone, allows him to focus on his football. Perhaps Newcastle will bring out the best in him.
If he goes somewhere, a loan move might work.
