John Boadu, the defeated former national secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), was seen as a serious danger to the chances of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) winning the general elections in 2024.

Godwin Edudzie Tamakloe, a private attorney and NDC member, thinks John Boadu's continued service as the ruling party's Chief Scribe would not have benefited the NDC in 2024.

Stunning Loss

In the hotly contested election conducted at the Accra Sports Stadium over the weekend, Justin Frimpong Koduah, aka JFK, defeated the incumbent NPP General Secretary to claim the job.

As a result, Mr. Kodua, who now serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has been named the NPP's new General Secretary.

The attorney received 2,857 votes, defeating A total of 5,556 votes were cast, and Mr. John Boadu received 2,524 of them.

Cost-free voyage to victory?

An adviser to former president John Dramani Mahama named Lawyer Tamakloe asserted on Okay FM's Ade Akye Abia show that the NDC party is steadily sailing to victory in the next general elections now that John Boadu has been removed from the picture.

"If you look critically at the analysis, John Boadu effectively sends his party into opposition whenever he loses an election, and I'm confident that this time will be no exception.

"I previously believed the NDC would have a very tough time winning the 2024 election when the 16 regional Chairmen publicly announced their support for Mr. John Boadu. Nevertheless, the NDC 2024 is about to win thanks to this most recent development and the fact that he is no longer an obstacle.

He said, "I can assure you that Mr. Boadu was a serious threat to the party's (NDC) success in the future general elections and the NPP themselves have made it easy for the NDC going ahead into the next general elections.
