Grant winning movie producer Jafar Panahi, captured last week in Tehran, should carry out a six-year punishment recently gave to him in 2010, the legal power declared Tuesday.
Panahi, 62, has won various honors at global celebrations for films that have scrutinized present day Iran, remembering the top award for Berlin for "Taxi" in 2015, and best screenplay at Cannes for his film "Three Faces" in 2018.
Six-year sentence
He is the third chief to be kept in Iran this month, close by Mostafa Aleahmad and Mohammad Rasoulof, who won the Golden Bear in Berlin in 2020 with his film "There Is No Evil".
