Fred Rodriguez and Bruno Fernandes were involved in a brawl with Jordan Ayew during Manchester United’s friendly win over Crystal Palace in Melbourne.
Ten Hag’s Red Devils were in action this afternoon in Melbourne against their Premier League rivals Palace as they continued their tour in Australia.
Jordan Ayew produced this heavy challenge on Bruno Fernandes during today's pre-season friendly.
Manchester United’s Portuguese attacking midfielder was furious over the tackle which resulted in Jordan Ayew getting booked.
Pastor Fred then raced over to confront the Palace ace as they got involved in a shoving match.
Couple of other players then became involved as they tried to separate them.
Goals from the New Three forward in town Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho secured a solid 3-1 victory over Palace and made it 3 wins from three so far in pre-season.
Joel Ward of Palace did get one back for Crystal Palace, but despite Man United youngster, Will Fish getting a red card, they were unable to mount a comeback in Melbourne.
Even though the game was only a pre-season friendly, things threatened to get heated over just before the hour mark.
Jordan Ayew went in hard for a tackle on B. Fernandes, something which enraged United’s players.
United midfielder Fred was first on the scene as He squared up to the Palace ace while his manager Erik Ten Hag vented his fury on tackle to the fourth Official.
Fred proceeded to push Jordan, who received a booking for the challenge, as other players were then held back as things threatened to boil over.
Even the commentators couldn’t believe what they were watching, as they described Jordan’s tackle as completely unnecessary.
Fortunately, things soon calmed down, but that didn’t stop Palace star Jean-Philippe Mateta from producing another full blooded tackle on Donny Van de Beek just minutes later.
