Celtic complete double signing of Aaron Mooy and Moritz Jenz
Celtic have completed the double signing of Aaron Mooy, the Australia midfielder, and Moritz Jenz, the German defender, with the latter on a season-long loan from Lorient. Mooy, who previously played international football under Ange Postecoglou, has signed a two-year deal with the Scottish champions. The 31-year-old had a spell with St Mirren early in his career before returning to Australia with Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne City. He was signed by Manchester City in 2016 but most recently played with Shanghai Port in the Chinese Super League. Mooy has 53 caps for Australia. Jenz came through the youth ranks at Fulham before moving to the Swiss side Lausanne-Sport in 2020. The 23-year-old was linked with a move to Celtic summer before joining Lorient. Celtic
Mooy delighted to reunite with Postecoglou at Celtic
New Celtic arrival Aaron Mooy is already familiar with manager Ange Postecoglou and is excited about linking up again. "Ange was my coach for about three years in the national team so I know the standards he wants, and I’m looking forward to working with him again," said the 31-year-old Australia midfielder. Mooy, who has agreed a two-year deal with the Scottish champions, made his professional debut with St Mirren and married his wife Nicola in Glasgow. He has also had conversations about his new club with international team-mate Tom Rogic, who left Celtic at the end of last season. "I’ve known Tom a long time," Mooy told CelticTV. "We’ve spoken lots of times about Celtic. I was always interested to know what it was like for him in Scotland and he’s obviously had an amazing period here with lots of success, and I’m sure I’ll be in touch with him shortly. "I’m delighted to be here now and I just can’t wait to get started and join in with the group."

Mooy was most recently with Chinese side Shanghai Port and reunites with his former international manager Ange Postecoglou at the Scottish champions. The 31-year-old, who spent two years with St Mirren a decade ago, has more than 300 club appearances and 52 caps. Celtic have an option to buy 23-year-old centre-back Jenz. The former Fulham youth moved to Lorient on a five-year deal from Swiss side Lausanne-Sport last summer and went on to make 18 appearances, 17 of them starts, as the club finished 16th in Ligue 1. He moves to Glasgow alongside Mooy, who was reportedly wanted by several Championship clubs having previously turned out for Huddersfield and Brighton. Postecoglou said: "I'm delighted we've been able to bring in both Aaron and Moritz and I'm sure they'll be great additions to our squad. "I obviously know Aaron from my time coaching the Australian national team, and he brings with him a wealth of experience at both club and international level.
