Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Kudjoe Fiano has confirmed the tournament will be a six-team tournament.
Asante Kotoko was apparently reneging to partake in the competition following reports that the number of participating teams was going to be changed from the usual 4-6 clubs.
Information available to Kessben Sports affirms Kumasi Asante Kotoko has now fully consented to partake after their initial position to boycott the tournament.
GHALCA had to increase the number of participating clubs to 6 to accommodate Accra Hearts of Oak who finished 6th in the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League.
The decision was informed by the sponsor's interest in having Accra Hearts of Oak involved in the tournament.
The tournament will be played at Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium and Accra Sports Stadium.
The Baba Yara Stadium will host games involving Asante Kotoko who came first in last season, Bechem United who gave their all to come up third and Medeama Sporting club who managed second position.
Hearts of Oak who after winning the Ghana premiere league in the 20/21 season couldn't defend it and performed poorly and ended up on the sixth position, Olympics and Karela on the other end will also have their games played at the Accra Sports stadium.
