Liverpool midfielder Fabinho believes the 2022-23 season will be even more difficult than the previous one.

Manchester City won the Premier League last season, and it was a close race between City and Liverpool, with City winning by a point.

Chelsea were in the title race last season until they were knocked out in December.

Fabinho has stated that the competition will be tougher this season because all of the top teams have strengthened significantly.

Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez this summer in an attempt to unseat City atop the Premier League standings, but Fabinho believes Pep Guardiola's reigning champions are still the favorites.

Fabinho has warned that Chelsea, as well as Tottenham and Arsenal, have strengthened significantly.

"City are always buying new players, always reinforcing their team," Fabinho told The Athletic. This summer was no exception, as [Erling] Haaland joined them. I believe it will be a great battle with them, but not just with them.

Tottenham has added some quality players, as has Arsenal with the addition of Gabriel Jesus, and Chelsea. Because everyone wants to beat City, everyone has been reinforcing. That means the Premier League will be extremely competitive this season.
