Matthijs de Ligt's decision to join German superpower Bayern Munich has severely hampered Premier League rivals Chelsea's long-running pursuit of the Juventus star.
The lengthy negotiations between the Bundesliga champions and the 22-year-old Dutch phenomena came to a happy close on Sunday night, according to numerous German media sites, with De Ligt ready to sign a five-year contract with Bayern.
