Even if Chelsea and Bayern Munich aren't interested in a deal, Cristiano Ronaldo is desperate to leave Manchester United this summer.
Piers Morgan, an avid supporter of Arsenal, has spoken out about Cristiano Ronaldo and admitted he is encouraging the Manchester United star to transfer to the Emirates.
Following his declaration to the Red Devils that he wants to go, the Portugal international has been heavily linked with a new team this summer. United will compete in the Europa League the following year after placing sixth in the Premier League.
As he pursues winning the Champions League, a competition he is anxious to win at least once more in his career, Ronaldo has no interest in slipping into that one. The 37-year-old believes he has about four more years of peak performance in him and does not want to waste it by playing in the Europa League.
The major frontrunners for his signature, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, withdrew from the race, making it harder for him to find a club. There aren't many options left for Ronaldo now, but TV personality Morgan has sent the five-time Ballon d'Or winner a private text with his own proposal.
"I've been in touch quite a bit over the past week. I firmly believe that Cristiano Ronaldo playing another match for Manchester United is extremely doubtful," he said to talkSPORT. "I simply believe he has psychologically moved on.
I won't reveal what we have talked to one another, but as I said at the outset, I don't believe Cristiano believes Manchester United share his goals. He believes they aren't playing enough Champions League games given the signings they're making, the dedication they displayed last season, and where they finished.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been in frequent communication with Piers Morgan, who has insisted.
Morgan, an Arsenal supporter, also acknowledged that he often communicates with Ronaldo and has stated that he is working to persuade him to transfer to the Emirates. Morgan continued, "Any Arsenal supporters listening should know I'm doing everything in my power to try and convince him to come to Arsenal.
He was going to sign with Arsenal as an 18-year-old, under Arsene Wenger, but he blitzed United in a friendly for Sporting Lisbon at the last minute, and Ferguson didn't leave the game until he signed him.
"I think he'd be returning home! We would have a wonderful forward line with him up front, Gabriel Jesus, and Eddie Nketiah, so why isn't that happening?
