In a recent interview, Lucas Moura expressed his desire to help Tottenham win a championship while also acknowledging that this might be his final campaign with the organization.
The Brazilian was a key member of Pochettino's squad and switched from PSG to the North London club in 2017. Moura thought the season in which Spurs advanced to the Champions League final was his greatest with the club. While Harry Kane, Son, and Dejan Kulusevski are all at the top of their games under Conte, he has dropped down the pecking order despite arriving last season.
The club has the option to extend Lucas Moura's contract for an additional year until 2023, albeit it is not required. Regarding his future at the club, he responded when
"I'm thrilled to be at Tottenham. I cherish the club. The fans are great. I adore everyone at the club, but I do have plans to return to Brazil in the future. My contract is for at least one year, and possibly two.
"I'm happy here, but I'm not sure if the club will want me to sign a new contract. I simply want this season to be the best one yet. I only want to take home a trophy because that is all I've wanted from this club since the day I joined, and I think I can do that this year. Next year, we'll see what the club wants to do.
"It's possible that this may be my final campaign here. Depending on the club, yes. They can choose to extend it for an additional year. My season's initial goal is to win a trophy. I've won trophies with Sao Paulo, Paris Saint-Germain, and the national team, and I want to win one with Tottenham. I believe we deserve it, but words are just that. This requires effort from you.
However, Conte may have different ideas for the Brazilian this year. Although Pochettino, Mourinho, and Conte all utilized him as a forward, the Italian employed him as a right wing-back against Sevilla in the preseason friendly and was impressed by his performance. Could there be a change in roles?
