Romeo Beckham, a descendant of the legendary David Beckham of England and Manchester United, and Harvey Neville, a descendant of Phil, both had first team action as cameo players for Inter Miami versus Barcelona.
The fathers of the young twins engaged in a number of exhilarating battles with Barcelona while playing for Manchester United, with David Beckham famously scoring at Old Trafford in a 3-3 draw in the 1998-99 season.
While his 19-year-old son played in front of stars like Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang while David was away on vacation, he will undoubtedly have been filled with pride at seeing him play for the team he owns.
The same can be said for Harvey Neville, whose entire family, including his uncle Gary, a well-known Sky Sports pundit, traveled to the United States to watch him play for 45 minutes.
Five members of Inter Miami 11, a third level team that frequently fields the Beckham and Neville sons, were included in the matchday roster for the friendly versus Barcelona.
After a five-year layoff, Beckham Jr. has just lately started playing football again.
After a brief stint in Arsenal's youth program, he switched sports and began playing tennis in 2015. He later returned to football in 2021 when he joined Miami, a team his father founded in 2018.
Romeo Beckham, the second oldest of Beckham's four children, was playing after their shocking breakup after three years together with Storm Models client Mia Regan.
Harvey Neville began his football career in Manchester United's youth ranks, just like his father, who was a member of the illustrious Class of 92 that also included Beckham. He later played for Manchester City and Valencia, where his uncle Gary served as manager while Phil served as his assistant.
Neville made his professional debut for Inter Miami in a May match against Tormenta FC as a late replacement for DeAndre Yedlin, but his 45 minutes against Barcelona were his longest appearance to date.
With his uncle Gary tweeting a family photo from a box at the stadium, this would have been a very memorable occasion for everyone concerned.
The Sports expert was wearing an Inter Miami shirt with Neville's name printed on the back, and he posted a number of Instagram posts about watching his nephew play and his brother serving as manager.
Head coach Phil Neville remarked, "It was a great occasion to play, you could feel the energy in the air, the supporters."
"I think it was a great learning experience for everyone involved, and I thought we had to dig in and fight," the speaker said.
