Ghana football association communication director, Henry Asante Twum, speaking on Asempa FM, said that, the Ghana football association is set to unveil title sponsor for Ghana Premier League, Division One and Women’s League.
The football association is yet to announce the deal. Cautions have been sent to the FA that, there are exceptions to the deal that they can accept.
FDA P.R.O, Mrs. Rhoda Appiah, speaking on Angel FM said sound a warning to the FA.
“Our policy affect every industry and if GFA wants an alcoholic brand as a sponsor for their league they must first petition or give a proposal to the Ministry of Youth & Sports to push a review of the policy on Alcoholic drink advertising in the country for them.” – FDA P.R.O Mrs. Rhoda Appiah told Angel 102.9 FM.
“Is affecting everybody even the entertainment people are having their fair share of it, so there’s no review in the policy football can’t receive alcoholic sponsorship.” – She added.
The Ghana Premier League have no sponsor. In the just ended season, our various League had no sponsors.
Ghanaians don’t see it to be fair for a League like Ghana premier League to have no sponsors. The argument is that, the quality of the League is low. Organization and marketing is also low and investors run lost when they invest in the league.
The new administration is putting is working hard and putting things in order to attract a lot of sponsors. As mentioned early, the Ghana football association is yet to announce a mega sponsorship deal.
