Jules Kounde provides a revealing transfer statement in response to Barcelona and Chelsea's inquiries
Jules Kounde has given the strongest indication yet that he will soon leave Sevilla.
This is true even if his final destination is still up in the air due to a conflict between Chelsea and Barcelona. According to football.london, Todd Boehly may be willing to pay £50 million for the Frenchman as part of a deal where the Blues and Sevilla are in advanced negotiations.
The only obstacle at this moment is a price because personal terms have long since been resolved. Although they haven't made an official offer yet, Barcelona has instructed the 23-year-old to "reject" Chelsea's offer. However, Kounde is willing to move to either place despite still being in Spain being his number one priority.
However, with no immediate bid on the table, Chelsea is moving full speed ahead to perhaps clinch a deal with a "frustrated" Monchi and a protracted transfer process that dates back to the summer of 2021/22. In addition to Julen Lopetegui's admission of his departure, which he made on Wednesday morning after learning that their number 23 was training alone and away from the team ahead of the start of their next preseason tour on Thursday, Kounde has now all but confirmed his departure from Andalusia after being confronted by a group of fans as he left the training grounds in the afternoon.
Kounde received a congratulations for his upcoming significant transfer away as he was exiting the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios in his vehicle with a fan saying to him: "Good luck wherever you go, have a great time. He responded with a "thank you", in a video that has gone viral on social media.
Another fan then pleaded with the central defender to not stay within Spain amid the tenuous Barcelona rumours. The supporter was quoted saying: “Not to Barca Jules, Please not to Barca."
