?I nearly got “k?d- napped” along with my roommate last week as we were trekking back to school at 11pm at night.
thankfully, I escaped but they got my roommate.
just yesterday, I heard that my roommate's dæd body was lying lifeless beneath the bridge.
I was stunned when I heard it because I was the cause of everything that happened.
now, Emmanuel was my roommate, who also happens to be my course mate
we were schooling in University of imo state.
we've been in University of imo state for almost 4years now, so I've been roommate with Emmanuel for a long time now, I've mastered his likes and dislikes.
Emmanuel was a native of Anambra state in Abatete, while I'm from Enugu state.
Ever since those unknown g?n-men started wasting people's life in imo state, we've been warned several times from our school head not to go outside the school gate after 7pm at night.
they've been warning us a lot about it that it have been most important rule in our school.
meanwhile, before you attends all the lectures you have in your schedule each day plus some little house chores and some readings, before you knows what happening, it's have already pass 8pm at night.
and it's have been a much problem to me since camping out and having fun outside school have already been an habit to me.
we obeyed the school rules for about half a year now without going out after 8pm clocked.
ever since last month being June, I have been planning on how to sneak outside the school gate without attracting much attention.
later, I decided to tell Emmanuel about it because I can't manage to go outside the school alone at 8/9pm at night.
at noon i approached Emmanuel..
“guy howfar nau, wetin sup”.. I said.
“i just dey ooh, just been trying to understand today's lecture wella”.. Emmanuel retorted.
“guy, ain't you tired of staying inside this school from morning to night”.. I asked..
“we go take am as we see am ooh, bro”.. he replied.
“guy, I have a plan, let's sneak out of the school maybe today or tomorrow, let's have fun like drinking, omo it's been a while since I tasted suya”... I said.
“i don't have money, bro”.. he mumbled.
“don't worry, the bills will be on me”.. I said and we agreed.
around 8pm at night, we sneak out of the school without anyone knowing anything about it.
I feel relieved as I was walking at the road because it's been a while.
we went to so many places after enjoying ourselves at the barbecue shop.
we partied, had fun with g ? r l s and so many other things.
Emmanuel checked time and it was already 11pm at night.
I was shocked as well as him.
we rushed out of where we were and wanted to board a bus but no car was on the road around that time, everywhere was so silence that I can even hear the voice of my breath.
I suggested that we should lodge hotel to stay for tonight and live very early in the morning but Emmanuel declined my idea saying he have important thing to check out in the lodge.
we started trekking as fast as we can but it's still a very long way back to our school.
on our way, one bus with 3 passenger stopped for us to enter, I suspected something, I told Emmanuel that we should continue trekking to school but Emmanuel refused saying he will enter the bus.
I had no other choice but to enter the bus with Emmanuel.
on the way, the bus driver started to top up the speed, all of a sudden the driver changed his direction, I was scared because the driver was not driving to the direction that leads to our school.
Emmanuel was scared also.
“driver! where are you going!?, this is not the direction to our school”.. Emmanuel shouted at the driver.
the other three passengers started laughing at us.
