RC Lens in back row According to journalist Pedro Almeida, Jonathan Clauss is in advanced negotiations with Manchester United amid rumours of a transfer to Chelsea.
Clauss, 29, had previously been linked to Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel, the manager of the Blues, looked to bolster his defence. Manchester United appears to be in a strong position to entice the Frenchman to Old Trafford, though.

The Red Devils are coming off of a rocky defensive season and desperately need more alternatives at the back. United finished the season with a goal difference of zero after giving up 57 goals in the league.
Tyrell Malacia, a left back, has already been signed by Erik ten Hag, and Lisandro Martinez, a centre back who previously played for Ajax, is about to do the same.
Clauss' prospective arrival might cause him to compete with Diogo Dalot for a starting position on Ten Hag's right side of the defence. The French defender made 40 appearances for Lens in Ligue 1 last season, scoring five goals and dishing out 11 assists. He is getting international calls to the France national team and still has a year left on his contract with the Stade Bollaert-Delelis squad.

He had exceptional recovery speed and defensive acumen, putting out the majority of fires when Palace was attacked. Wan-first Bissaka's season was successful, but since then, his reputation has slightly waned. For the 24-year-old, last season was a forgettable one because he lost his starting position to Diogo Dalot after a terrible stretch of play.
Former team Crystal Palace has been mentioned as a prospective suitor this summer, and that might be the ideal outcome for all sides. There are two years left on Wan-contract Bissaka's with United, and it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for him.
