Today is the precise 78th anniversary of the late Prof. John Evans Atta-Mills' birth.
In light of this, Ghanaians have celebrated and honoured "Asomdwehene" on social media.
Additionally, many are remembering Prof. Atta-Mills and paying tribute to him. Samuel Koku Anyidoho, the Atta Mills Institute's founder, paid tribute to Atta Mills on his social media profile.
“Hmmmmmmm!!!! 10 years have gone by in an instant! One of my favourite memories is of getting ready to travel from the Takoradi airport for the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah's commissioning with my boss and father, President Atta-Mills. I miss him. He was a terrific buddy," the user said.

In honour of former president Atta Mills, the KNUST Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), TEIN KNUST, is also planning enjoyable games this weekend.
On July 24, it will be ten years since he passed away.
In this sense, a celebration of the former president is being planned by the John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills Heritage.
The event, titled "The Man John Evans Atta Mills - Ten Years On," is slated to take place on July 26 at 2:00 pm at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The "Asomdeehene," as she is referred to by Ghanaians, was born on July 21, 1994, in Tarkwa, which is in the country's Western Region.
The late President was a native of the Ghanaian Central Region town of Ekumfi Otuam.
After the elections in December 2008, Prof. Mills was chosen as president and took office on January 7, 2009, defeating Nana Akufo-Addo, the nominee of the ruling party.
He passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, after almost four years in office as Ghana's president.
