DR. SIAW AGYEPONG FORMALLY INVITES AKUFO-ADDO, BAWUMIA TO HIS LATE FATHER’S FUNERAL

A delegation from the grieving family of Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, the founder and executive chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), paid President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia a courtesy call.

 

On Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the Jubilee House, the seat of government, the delegation, lead by Abusuapanyin Barima Osei Berko, formally invited President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia to the burial of Dr. Siaw Agyepong's late father, Opanyin Samuel Kwame Agyepong.

 

 

 

"The extended family and the children of the late Samuel Agyepong gathered to discuss the burial and funeral date after the one-week observation period.  So, Mr. President, we are here to formally inform you and invite you to the burial service for the late Samuel Agyepong, which is scheduled for September 10, 2022, and will be conducted at the State House forecourt, Abusuapanyin Osei Berko stated.

 

 

 

He did, however, say that the family had decided that their father's funeral would be held in Obo Kwahu, in the Eastern Region, on the same day (September 10, 2022).

 

 

 

The Teshie Nungua Estate of the Church of Pentecost will host a Thanksgiving ceremony in memory of the late Samuel Kwame Agyepong on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

 

 

 

"...after the church, the family will proceed with the late Samuel Agyepong's funeral at his home in Teshie Nungua. Therefore, Abusuapanyin Osei Berko used the chance to thank the President on behalf of his family, in particular for allowing his chief of staff and other ministers to take part in the one-week observation of Dr. Agyepong's late father.

 

 

 

Abusuapanyin Osei Berko sent the President's Secretary a box of schnapps and various foreign beverages as is customary.

 

 

 

President Akufo-Addo paid respect to the late Samuel Agyepong while expressing sympathy to his family for their loss. He emphasised that he had given Ghana Dr. Siaw Agyepong, who is still contributing his fair share in many areas to the growth and development of the nation.

 

 

 

He was frank in saying that Dr. Siaw Agyepong, a businessman, made significant contributions to the growth of under his leadership.  The President stated that he would make sure to attend the funeral at the State House even if he was unsure whether he could fly to Obo for the burial.

 

 

 

In addition to thanking them for the courtesy call and the invitation to the funeral, he assured them that the presidency will actively participate in the burial and funeral.

 

 

 

Dr. Bawumia expresses sympathy to the family of Dr. Siaw Agyepong and promises that, "God willing, on September 10, we will come and help you to guarantee that everything goes according to plan."

 

 

 

He expressed gratitude to God for giving Dr. Siaw Agyepong's late father long life, saying, "We love him [late Samuel Agyepong], but God loves him."
