The 5th edition of the Ghana Shippers Awards nominations will be closed on July 25, 2022, according to the event's organisers.

The awards, which offer a forum to acknowledge people and organisations who significantly contribute to the expansion and development of the shipping industry, also aim to honour crucial positions within the sector that foster expansion and sustainability.

This year's awards, which are being presided over by Minister of Transportation Mr. Kweku Ofori Asiamah and have as their theme "The negative impact and survival of COVID-19 on the maritime and shipping industry," will highlight the pandemic's detrimental effects on industry and the countermeasures put in place to counteract them.

The ceremony, slated for Friday, August 19, 2022 at 6:00 pm at the Kempiski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra, will honour accomplishments from local and foreign businesses participating in Ghana's maritime industry.

Additionally, it would honour people who made a significant contribution to developing the maritime sector both during and after the COVID era.

The awards include a variety of industries, including air, sea, and ground transportation, freight forwarding, shipping brokers, express services, and courier companies. They also cover government, insurance, and financial institutions.

The Awards will also give participating organisations the ideal chance to enhance their exposure among professionals, earn peer recognition, and increase their reputation within the framework of this significant business.

Benchmark

Key performance indicators (KPIs) in the standards of excellence, such as information technology for couriers, safety, and competitive pricing, will serve as the benchmarks for the performance of the nominees who have been selected.

The ratings and survey results from the Ghana Shippers Authority, who are significant partners and in charge of the technical parts of the awards, will be prioritised over the shortlisted finalists.
