Bruno Fernandes cuts his secrecy on Cristiano Ronaldo rumour despite Manchester United uncertainty.
Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Manchester United is uncertain, as he missed the club's pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia due to personal reasons.
Bruno Fernandes has acknowledged that he does not know whether Cristiano Ronaldo will stay or leave Manchester United this summer.
Ronaldo is not on United's pre-season tour due to personal reasons, but his camp has stated that he intends to leave after only one season at Old Trafford. Fernandes, Ronaldo's United and Portugal teammate, said he has no idea what the superstar is thinking as his future remains uncertain.
United manager Erik ten Hag was also unable to confirm when Ronaldo will resume training, despite the fact that their Premier League opener against Brighton is only 17 days away.
Given the uncertainties, Fernandes stated that Ronaldo must still be given time to know his future and that his decision, whatever it is, must be respected by United and their players.
"Obviously, we have to respect everyone's decision," Fernandes said. "I'm not sure what Cristiano said to the club or the manager, or what's going through his mind, but we have to respect his space." According to what we know, he had some family issues, so we must respect his space, give him some space, and that's it.
"Cristiano seemed to be our leading scorer last summer, he introduced goals to us, but clearly it's not on me, it's on the club, and Cristiano makes his own decision."
I don't know what's going on in his head, and if he wants to leave, that's all news; I didn't ask them. When Cristiano didn't show up, I asked him if everything was okay with the family, and he told me what was going on, nothing more."
United have arrived in Perth for the final leg of their preseason tour, where they will take on Aston Villa on Saturday.
