Tanya gasped, staring at Riley with disbelieve. “I can’t believe you want to do this but guess I’ve got a lot of powers that I don’t even know of.” Tanya said and folded her arms, looking at her as she rose up in mid air.
Riley sighed and turned her back on Tanya. “I’m sorry.” Her voice was hard and trembling at the same time.
Tanya was immediately sorry for her. What happened to her? “You….are really a ghost now,Riley?” She asked.
Riley turned to look at her. Just to make Tanya believe her,she moved closer to a drawer and tried touching the books on it but her fingers only passed through it and Tanya gasped,on seeing it. “You believe me now? Even with the way I look and sound,you don’t believe me?”
“What happened,Riley?” Tanya asked.
Riley looked at her. “I’m gonna tell you what happened….only if you promise me that you are gonna help me.”
Tanya looked at her for sometime and nodded slowly. ” I will help you.” She replied.
Riley frowned deeply and Tanya’s eyes widened when she saw blood streaming down her face.
“Riley…..calm down.” Tanya whispered,really scared this time around.
Riley moved forward in the air, closer to the window and turned back to look at Tanya and started her story. “It was on a Friday evening….when everything happened.”
{FLASH BACK – TWO MONTHS BACK}
Eddie walked into the class,his eyes searching around for Riley who he had told to wait behind after classes.
“Where the hell is she? We are gonna be late.” Eddie mumbled, staring down at his wrist watch.
“I’m here!” Riley announced from behind and Eddie turned to look at her.
“I’ve been waiting like forever.” Eddie complained and Riley rolled her eyes.
“You just got in. I saw you.” Riley chipped in.
“Come on…..we have to be on our way. The book store closes by 6pm.” Eddie said and they both left the class.

The two friends walked down the street, chatting noisily as they made their way to the book store to get their books. “Are you gonna get a copy of the book?” Eddie asked Riley as they trekked.
“I’ve got to even though I hate chemistry like snakes.” Riley grumbled and Eddie laughed.
“It’s not optional, princess. You have to get it.” Eddie replied. He suddenly sighed and shook his head. “I wonder what Tanya in doing right time. It’s been two months but I miss her so much already.”
“Me too. She was like a sister I never had. When are we gonna see her again?” Riley asked and Eddie shrugged.
“I wish I knew.” He replied.
They climbed up a bridge and immediately they got down,the gunshots started and there was pandemonium.
Riley and Eddie were freaked out. They frantically looked about, searching for where to hide as people scampered away.
“What’s happening!!” Riley yelled as Eddie held her hand.
“Hey kids!! Run for your lives! The police men and the gangstas are exchanging gunfire!! Run!!” A man yelled at them as he ran past.
“Come on Riley!! Let’s take that road!” Eddie cried as they both took to their heels.
Eddie jumped into the road and crossed to the other side. He tripped but stood up and continued running.
Riley ran towards the road too but unfortunately,it was the same time the bandits van was about zooming off.
Riley ran into the road,not looking out first. Eddie turned and screamed but it was too late.
Too late to warn his dear friend. The over speeding van that was filled up with gun men escaping from the police ran straight into Riley, throwing her high up in the air and landing her so hard on the floor.
Riley’s blood sputtered around,all over the road. Eddie screamed again and just as the van zoomed off,he ran back into the road,his eyes on the plate number of the van.
He turned back to look at Riley with tears in his eyes. “RILEY!!!” He cried out and ran towards her with other people who are gradually coming out from hiding.
But it was too late. Riley was dead.
