Brighton has rejected the opening of Manchester City's opening of £ 30 million for Marc Cucurella. City want to sign the left back after agreeing to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal, but Brighton has set a requested price of £ 50 million for Cucurella.
The Spaniard has made a big impact since joining the Graham Potter side for £ 15.4 million from Getafe last year. Players, who are 24 years old on Friday, quickly adapted to English football and City have made them one of their main targets.
Cucurella was understood to be interested in joining the champions and there was a feeling that the agreement would be passed. But City hopes to pay less than £ 50 million and there is a possibility they can go if Brighton holds fast to their assessment of a player who has four years in his agreement. Brighton Rate Cucurella as one of their biggest assets and wants to maintain it.

Pep Guardiola holds Barcelona Youth products at high prices. Cucurella, who has also been questioned by Chelsea, is strong and achievers in ownership. He matches the modern full-back profile and signs it will plug in a striking hole in the City squad.
Left back is the position of the problem for Guardiola last season. Zinchenko was used there even though he wanted to play in midfield and João Cancelo was also impressed in that role despite the right foot.
With Zinchenko on the verge of joining Arsenal, Cancelo will be the only senior left back in City's disposal. Guardiola has suggested that the versatile Nathan Aké can fill in the left after City's decision not to sell central defender to Chelsea, and he has also discussed the prospect of the 19-year-old academy Josh Wilson-Esbrand, but buying Cucurella will be the ideal solution.
