Multiple sources in Brazil and Italy claim Fiorentina are on the verge of a €15m plus bonuses deal for Shakhtar Donetsk right-back Dodo.
The 23-year-old was first purchased from Coritiba in January 2018 and had a loan spell at Vitoria Guimaraes in 2018-19.
He had provided four assists in 26 games before the Russian invasion of Ukraine put an early end to Shakhtar’s season, where he was working under former Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi.
Also targeted by Barcelona, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich in recent months, Dodo is on the verge of a move to Fiorentina.
Sportitalia, Globoesporte and UOL Sport all maintain the Viola are close to finalising the deal for €15m plus performance-related bonuses.
The situation in Ukraine has seen the price-tag drop significantly from €25-30m just last year.
Dodo has been keeping himself fit with a personal trainer and working with Coritiba in Brazil, the club that launched his career.
Shakhtar Donetsk full-back Dodo will undergo his medical with Fiorentina in the coming days, while Luka Jovic will land in Italy tomorrow.
Both players will move to the Stadio Franchi on permanent deals. Jovic will join the Stadio Franchi on a free transfer. He will receive a payout from Real Madrid, who will have a 50% sell-on fee.
According to Rai Sport’s Sara Meini Jovic will land in Florence on Friday to undergo his medical with the Tuscans.
Brazilian full-back Dodo will follow him after a few days as the Tuscans have reached an agreement to sign him from Shakhtar.
As per Fabrizio Romano, the 23-year-old will move to Tuscany for €14.5m plus €3.5m add-ons. The agreement is in place and the Brazilian defender will be in Italy in the coming days.
He will replace another Real Madrid defender – Alvaro Odriozola – who returned to the Santiago Bernabeu after a successful loan spell at the Franchi.
