Former Ghana u20 world star Ebenezer Assifuah has disclosed that he aspired to play at the highest level in his football career.
He said he feels sad whenever he thinks about how far France and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has progressed in football after playing with him at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
With 6 goals, E. Assifuah was the tournament's top scorer as Ghana placed 3rd. France emerged as champions with Paul Pogba and Samuel Umtiti playing key roles.
Both Paul Pogba and Samuel Umtiti have gone on to win World Cup and played for the best teams in the world while Ebenezer Assifuah, The Ghana international’s career has stalled, with the striker now on the books of French second tier side Pau FC.
He said “I feel so sad when I see the likes of Paul Pogba, Umtiti, and the rest. Because We all played on one stage during the FIFA U20 tournament in Turkey."
‘The Difference between them us and them is that their country saw what they can do and groomed them."
“Now they’re all World Cup winners and still playing. But for Us the moment we could not win the tournament that was just it,” Ebenezer Assifuah Lamented in an interview with Original TV.
