Sevilla defender Jules Kounde was left out of the club's pre-season training camp in Portugal, as Chelsea continues to negotiate a deal with Sevilla.
The Blues had made an improved bid of £55 million for the 23-year-old, and with his transfer secured, he did not accompany his teammates to Portugal.
"Official," said transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Jules Koundé has been left out of Sevilla's squad for the upcoming pre-season friendly in Portugal due to ongoing negotiations. It was already decided internally, as Sevilla is negotiating the sale of Koundé this week.
Kounde surprised everyone at his club when he decided to take the bus to Portugal, where they planned to camp in the southern city of Lagos.
Sevilla will travel to Portugal as part of their preparations for the upcoming La Liga season.
According to The Sun, Kounde believes it is 'unprofessional' for him to remain in Spain and train alone while still a Sevilla player.
"It is still highly likely that he will join Chelsea," a club insider said. When Kounde arrived for the bus to Lagos, everyone was taken aback. But he believes he should be a 'professional' while still playing for Sevilla.
Barcelona has yet to make a bid for Kounde.

According to reports, the Portuguese may be willing to accept a 30% pay cut, but he would still demand around £350,000 per week.
