After a brilliant performance, Sadio Mane of Senegal and Bayern Munich was crowned the 2022 CAF Player of the Year.
Mane earned the top award at the Caf Awards ceremony in Rabat on Thursday, defeating Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah for the title of 2022 African Player of the Year.
He scored five goals in the Champions League, two in the FA Cup, and 16 goals in the Premier League. He contributed 33 goals and 5 assists in total throughout the time under study.
On the international stage, Mane helped the Lions of Teranga win their first Africa Cup of Nations title by scoring the game-winning penalty against Egypt at Yaounde's Olembe Stadium, sealing the victory after 120 minutes of scoreless play.
The 30-year-old had great play throughout the competition, scoring three goals and dishing out two assists to take home Player of the Competition honors.
Asisat Oshoala of Nigeria and Barcelona was selected the 2022 African Women's Player of the Year, while Evelyn Badu of Ghana won the Inter-Club Player of the Year and the Young Player of the Year awards.

Sportovn klub Slavia Praha, one of the top teams in the Czech Republic's first division, knew it would be difficult to get to the prestigious Europa Conference League group stage since they would have to travel to face St. Joseph's Football Club.
Sportovn klub Slavia Praha and Nigerian international Yira Collins Sor opened the scoring in the first half, and he went on to extend his team's lead at the break with a goal in the second half.
When the game resumed for the second half, Sportovn klub Slavia Praha maintained its lead and scored two goals to make the final score (4-0).
