Thomas Tuchel ready to sell four Chelsea stars after making third summer signing
Thomas Tuchel is ready to sell four Chelsea players after sealing a deal for Jules Kounde, but the Blues may be left with the undesired players if offers come in.
Chelsea are attempting to recruit France international Kounde from Sevilla, having previously signed Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly this summer.
Tuchel is looking to bolster his defense after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen at the end of last season. However, Chelsea will face stiff competition from Barcelona, who are willing to put their financial problems aside in order to lure Kounde away from their La Liga opponents.
Chelsea, on the other hand, remain hopeful that Kounde will join them, and Tuchel and Todd Boehly will turn their attention to exits if and when they complete their third summer signing.
According to The Telegraph, Tuchel is willing to allow a handful of first-team regulars to leave, however whether Chelsea can attract adequate offers remains to be seen.Tuchel is said to be willing to let go of German striker Timo Werner, Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech, and Belgian attacker Michy Batshuayi.
Following Sterling's £50 million move from Manchester City, Werner and Ziyech have been prominently linked with transfers away from Chelsea, with Werner hinting that he may seek a transfer.
Arrizabalaga does not want to be Edouard Mendy's backup for another season, but Chelsea will struggle to repay the £72 million they paid for him in 2018.Meanwhile, Ziyech has discussed a loan transfer to Serie A club AC Milan and is willing to go after falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are presently on a pre-season tour in America, and Tuchel has already sent four players home, with Armando Broja and Levi Colwill expected to leave before the transfer deadline.
