GES's most recent communication to all preceptors and scholars in public seminaries is as follows GES Declares Quiet and Announces Public School holiday Date for Term 2.
Following the COLA strike and its dislocation of the academic work ofPre-tertiary seminaries, Ghana Education News proposed a 10- day extension of the academy period, still, the GES has officially broken its silence on the issue.
According to the GES, “ The Basic seminaries timetable released in March of this time remains the same. Please be reminded that holiday
for the alternate term is 11th August 2022.
Thank you. ” the sanctioned communication from the GES stated.
Therefore, on August 11, 2022, pupils in Kindergarten, Primary, and Junior High School must leave in order to make way for the alternate semester of the 2022 academic time.
also, the third term of the 2022 academic time would begin on September 13, 2022, and end on December 15, 2022.
The Ghana Education Service published a semester schedule for abecedarian seminaries up to kindergarten position at the morning of the academic time. preceptors rejected this through their unions, which forced the GES to change back to the standard trimester( 3 terms) arrangement.
On August 11, all public abecedarian seminaries are supposed to close. In order to make up for the 10 days lost due to the Cost of Living Allowance strike, which began on July 4 and ended on July 14, preceptors would have to put in a lot of trouble.
A 15 COLA was approved as a result of the strike and will be paid between July and December 2022. The first COLA is anticipated to be paid in August in the form of arrears plus August's payment.
