Her devastating involvement in Galamsey, an ecologically predatory and destructive illegal small-scale mining activity, speaks far more of the abysmal near-term fate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) than any prophecy that crooked and greedy politicians such as the latter party's National Women's Organiser, apart from a sheer miracle, she could have hoped for an almost certain return of the latter party to the gray fringes of opposition political culture over the next 60 years, and not in the same 30 years Mrs. Kate Abena Gyamfuah claims to have been prophesied, that is, if will the currently ruling party fail to break the meaningless 8-year alternating term that seems to have become the established norm between the two main political parties in the country, namely, the New Patriotic Party and the main opposition National Democratic Congress (see "Prophecy Says Failure 'Break the 8' equals 30 years of opposition - Kate Gy of NPP amfuah” Modernghana.com 7/11/22).
On a grim note, Ms. Gyamfuah, at least a dozen of her Chinese-made Galamsey Changfang excavators were reported to have been either torched or seized by a government patrol team in the heavily polluted Birem Riverbed, is set to return to her post as National Women's Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, largely for the same reasons that a remarkable majority of her discarded colleagues in the party executive are sure to return to their various servile positions at Kokomlemle party headquarters. And the reason, of course, is inevitably that there is basically absolutely no difference in caliber between the kleptocratic leadership of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party.
You see, dear reader, in the six years that the New Patriotic Party government led by Akufo-Adde held the democratic reins of governance, the JE leadership has scandalously proven itself to be as kleptocratically self-serving as the previous Mills-Mahama tandem regimes of the National Democratic Congress. This latest statement simply means that the leadership of the New Patriotic Party is desperate kicking and screaming to relinquish the democratic reins of governance so that, in retrospect, they can also be given the same opportunity to plunder and pillage our National Treasury. just as the Issahaku group did with the digitization program at the Bank of Ghana under the supervision of former President John “Akonfem-Kanazoe Ouagadougou” Dramani Mahama.
In fact, the leadership of the New Patriotic Party fared much better under the much more fiscally responsible leadership of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, himself a former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana. The problem appears to have worsened under the leadership of the Minister of Finance, Kenneth K. Ofori-Atta, and Mr. Charles Adu-Boahen, the CEO of Black Star Advisors (BSA) and the Deputy Minister of Finance, who were both accused of gross and flagrant conflict of interest violations by that the privately owned companies of the two cabinet appointees were selected non-competitively as investment loan advisers to the Akufo-Addo government and in fact the Ghanaian taxpayer for huge consultancy fees.
In Mr. Ofori-Atta's case, the conflict of interest violation was said to be primarily due to the finance minister's investment group for the data bank, which he co-founded with two other existing partners, serving as investment advisers to the government. for exorbitant consulting fees and commissions. But that the Ghanaian Parliament would condescend to such apparently unsustainable trade arrangements or practices, a situation that would not be tolerated in any robust and healthy democratic political culture, is all the more disturbing. The finance minister and his deputy were in all likelihood acting on precedents set by previous NDC regimes. And this is where it becomes even more inexcusably problematic, because the moral pretext on which the leadership of the New Patriotic Party managed to achieve two electoral victories was that the JE leadership was much less corrupt, self-sacrificing and progressively oriented towards the massive creation of social intervention programs, precisely that the kind of national development strategy and agenda that the country and Ghanaians desperately need at this time.
So far, relatively speaking, the Akufo-Addo government stands head and shoulders above all governments of the Fourth Republic. It is in the equally critical area of ??official corruption that the current government deserves to do much more. In short, this is where President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo really needs to prove that he really stands in a class all by himself when it comes to the undeniably tough fight against official corruption. The prognosis does not seem to be encouraging at all. Even more significant is the urgent need for someone of higher stature to take people like the National Women's Organizer of the New Patriotic Party back to school and thoroughly re-educate Mrs. Kate Abena Gyamfuah on the indisputable fact that if the New Patriotic Party will remain in power -Nana Akufo-Addo or not, primarily and directly depends on the collective performance of the party leadership, including of course the National Women's Organiser, and not the kind of scandalously headless "prophecies" that Ms Gyamfuah seems to be making. morbidly and pathologically, if also obtusely, fixated on.
