MY W1CKED MADAM
EPISODE 4
“, hey! I’ve forgotten your name, open the door” Oga kept shouting. But then I knocked my head on the floor and said, “ I’m finished” I said as I knocked my head on the floor.
We were there trembling and shivering when an idea came into my my mind. The idea was, maybe madam should hide at the back of the door. “ Hide at the back of the door” I said. “ You’ve finally put me in trouble, ma” I added. But the problem was, before she could hide at the back of the door, we must open the door for Oga first. So there was no way she could hide at the back of the door while we would open the door for oga. “ what will we do pls? Pls don’t let me d!e young” I was panting.
Then madam all of a sudden looked at the bag where I packed my luggages in, “ You’ll have to offload this bag.” She said. Oga was at the door, kept knocking and shouting to wake me up. I thought he had known we were both inside. I couldn’t control it, tears kept dropping down from my eyes as there was no way I could prove to the world that I was an innocent. We offloaded the cloth, packed my cloths under the bed in a blink of an eye and I Zipped up the bag after madam had entered inside.
I quickly spread the bedsheet well and went ahead the door to open then door for Oga. As I opened the door, I started pretending as if I was sleeping as I was yawning and dozing pretendedly. “ I’m so sorry for waking you up by this time” Oga said. “ It’s nothing, sir” I replied. Oga noticed that my body wasn’t calm as the fear was still in my body and the way I was trembling and shivering spoke a lot about my then-present condition. “ Why are you shivering like this?” oga asked, because of how my lips were shaking. I didn’t even know what to say i was short of word. I went mute. No matter how I tried to control myself, my mood, I couldn’t do it, as my mind didn’t stop troubling me. “ I just hope madam doesn’t get tired of the heat over there there and shout!” I had said secretly in my mind as I was praying silently in my mind. I couldn’t help, I had to be smiling and beaming, so oga wouldn’t notice anything was going on.
“ Or is it the air conditioner?” Oga asked. I was so very glad that he asked that question as I didn’t have any lie to tell him about what was making me shiver and tremble. “ I think so, sir. There is nothing like this in our village” I nodded as I told him it was the Air conditioner. “ You’ll have to be adapted with it, This is Lagos” Oga said, as he smiled. From his look, You would have known he was so worried but he was only acting strong. “ Thank you, sir. I’ll be” I said. “ Please, Let us both go the backyard and look around” He said. “ Hope there is no problem, sir?” I asked. “ Not really! Just let us do that”.
I knew he was looking for madam but Didn’t want to open up, But I followed him and we both looked at the backyard and everywhere. We couldn’t find anything. But as we entered back to the room, We saw madam, going to her room, with just towel wrapped on her body, and water dropping down from her body. As òga saw her, he shouted, “ Bukky, where did you go?”. She turned back. “ what? She asked. “ I said where were you since?” Oga asked agin. “ I was at the bathroom. I went to the bathroom” She said. This time, Oga’s eyes were already reddish. “ Which bathroom?” oga shouted, and she began to shake and shiver.
“ There is always end to everything. I think my end has come this night. I’m sorry mum” I had said silently in my mind, as I remembered my sickmum who was on the sickbed.
