The Blues are nearing an agreement with Sevilla to pay £55 million for the French defender. According to the Daily Mail, Barcelona has raised additional funds by selling rights and will now compete with Chelsea's bid. On Thursday, Kounde, 23, joined his Sevilla teammates in Portugal for a pre-season training camp.

Barcelona have been eyeing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde and could still make a late bid for him, despite Chelsea being close to an agreement. However, if Kounde is not available, the Camp Nou side have several other options to strengthen their defence. According to reports, they are also interested in Villarreal center-back Pau Torres, Arsenal's William Saliba, Inter's Milan Skriniar, and Josko Gvardiol.

Ten Hag: No Ronaldo update

It is unclear when Cristiano Ronaldo will rejoin the Manchester United squad, as the 37-year-old missed the team's tour of Thailand and Australia due to a family issue at a time when speculation about his future is rampant.

Erik ten Hag, on the other hand, has stated that he "can not wait" for Ronaldo to return. Ten Hag said of the Portuguese star, "No (update)." "It's exactly the same as last week."

When asked if he was concerned that the longer Ronaldo is out, the less time he will have to train, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson replied: "Without a doubt." But perhaps worrying isn't the right word.

"I concentrate on the players who are present and doing exceptionally well." They are in good condition.

Mbabu to undergo Fulham medical today

Kevin Mbabu is on the verge of completing his move from Wolfsburg to Fulham. Personal terms have been agreed upon, and Mbabu will be examined today in Portugal.

Fulham are in the country for pre-season training. There is also an agreement in place with Wolfsburg for the player for 7.5 million euros, which works out to 5.5 million euros down and 2 million euros in the future.

Darwin Nunez, according to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, can dispel doubts about his price tag by scoring goals.

The Reds manager stated that the Uruguay international, who arrived this summer in what could be a club-record £85 million move from Benfica, would not be a 'normal human being' if he did not feel some financial pressure.

There was some backlash on social media after the 23-year-old failed to score in two 30-minute cameos in Liverpool's first two pre-season friendlies in Thailand and Singapore, but Nunez made amends with four goals as a second-half substitute in the 5-0 win over RB Leipzig.

"We always think that if you pay a lot of money, the players don't feel any pressure or whatever," Klopp said. "They are all completely normal human beings, and (if) the first touch is not perfect, then everything falls apart."

Dani Alves signs for Pumas UNAM following Barcelona release

Dani Alves has joined Mexican club Pumas UNAM on a free transfer after being released by Barcelona.

Last season, the 39-year-old Alves demonstrated that he still has life in his old legs, returning to Camp Nou in January and making 17 appearances across all competitions. Despite indicating that he would have been open to extending his stay at the club, Alves was not offered a new contract.

However, it did not take long for the Brazilian to identify his next challenges, with UNAM confirming his arrival in an unusual announcement video.
