Seven full legs - and that before their new pitching prospects ride mounds.

O Universitas left 7 feet selected from O Saint Leo University with the first pick in the 13th round of the Baseball Amateur Draft Wednesday. If Beck managed to reach the major, he would pass through Pitcher 6-Kaki-11 Sean Hjelle and Jon Rauch as the highest player in the history of the Main League.

Beck attacked 105 batters in 68 1/3 inning for Division II Saint Leo this season, posted 3,95 era. He also threw summer balls for Savannah bananas, where he stands out in a small league club more focused on strange entertainment than player development.

O See Beck as more than just an oddity, quoting the fast ball they clock up to 95 mph. Baltimore Draft Director Brad Ciolek admitted Wednesday there was a job that had to help Beck managing his extra long limbs, and they plan to help him improve the ball and changes as well.

"Jared is a very interesting case," Ciolek said. "Obviously, he is a few men who are bigger, and it might take a little more, I think, in terms of shipping, perfecting the mechanics. But we have confidence in our player development staff, our pitching coach, that they will be able to get maximum results from their abilities . "

There are at least two small league baseball players that are higher than Beck on 7-Kaki-1. Dutch Pitcher Loek van Mil played 10 seasons in an affiliated ball, mostly with Minnesota, and Ryan Doherty threw the three seasons in the Arizona system before switching to professional beach volleyball.

Here are some other choices that should be noted from the third and last day of the draft, which includes rounds 11-20:

-Rhp Marquis Grissom Jr., Washington: Grissom's father is the third round of choice by Montreal Expos in 1988 and played six seasons as an external player for the club, who moved to Washington in 2005. The younger Grissom was the 13th round of choice to -13 for the same franchise after going 4-5 with 57 strikeouts at 61 inning as an initial throwing in Georgia Tech.

-3b Jackson Jaha, New York Mets: Jaha, Pick 15th round, is the son of a former Slugger of the Great League John, who played 10 seasons with Milwaukee and Oakland. Jackson is a middle school player from Clackamas Middle School in Oregon and is committed to Oregon University.

-RHP Caden Dana and from Casey Dana, Los Angeles Angels: La chose Caden, a high school pitcher, in the 11th round, then chose his brother Casey, an outside player from Uconn, in the 16th round. Caden is committed to Kentucky for college and may require a large signing bonus. Finding a job for his brother, the fifth year's senior with Huskies, can help the negotiation.

- RHP Jared Karros, Los Angeles Dodgers: Eric Karros played 12 seasons at Dodger Blue, won the Rookie of the Year in 1992 as the first baseman. Jared went to Ucla like his father, where he had 3.33 era for Bruins, good enough for Dodgers to bring him in the 16th round.

- RHP/LHP Jurrangelo Cijntje, Milwaukee: Cinjtje is a prospect of throwing pro with both arms, reaching 96 mph from the right side and 92 mph from the left. Florida secondary school players lasted until the 18th round and might respect his college commitment to the Mississippi state. If he decided to sign, he could follow Pat Venditte as a large league runner who was ambidextrous.
