Jurgen Klopp said "Pandora's Box" was opened when Liverpool friendly robber on Thursday.
The Reds brought striker Nunez to Anfield from Benfica last month with a transfer fee that could rise to a 100 million euro club record (£ 85 million, $ 105 million).
The Uruguayan player, who scored 34 goals last season, was criticized by several supporters after failing to score in Liverpool's first pre-season match against Manchester United and Crystal Palace.
But he came in the first round against Leipzig in Germany with Liverpool leading 1-0 thanks to Mohamed Salah's goal and scored a penalty before going to the net three more times.
"Mo gave Darwin Penalty and Darwin, Pandora Box open," Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com. "That is of course the perfect night for him.
"We always think that if you pay a lot of money, the players don't feel pressure or anything.
"They are all human beings who are truly normal and the first touch is not perfect so suddenly ... this generation of players read social media, which is really not smart, but they do it.
"Suddenly you are in a hurry and things like this. That's the best way to stop all this discussion."
Liverpool, who won the FA Cup and the League Cup last season but finished as runner-up in the Premier League and the Champions League, faced Manchester City at the Cules-Raiser Community Shield next weekend.
The 23 -year -old Nunez will hope to be a key member of the Klopp squad after Sadio Mane's departure to Bayern Munich.
"I think everyone is very happy for him and searched for him (in the dressing room)," said central defender Joel Matip.
"A good end result, high speed and body that he always entered - I think it will be very difficult for our opponents."
