The Board of Directors of the Ghana Premier league 2021/2022 champions, Asante Kotoko has dismissed rumours of the resignation of the head coach, Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum.
The Board of Directors of the Kumasi based club, also known as Porpcupine Warriors has debunked rumours of the exit of the club's coach which has since generated controversy on social and traditional media platforms.
In a statement from the club's board Secretary Kwamina Mensah, he advised supporters and sympathizers of the club to disregard such information.
"The Board of Directors of Asante Kotoko have heard from various social media platforms and news in general that the Coach of the club, Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum has communicated his resignation to the technical committee of the Board".
" We inform you that, the said coach has neither resigned nor communicated his resignation to the Board".
Please disregard any such information", the statement read.
Earlier on news reports on various social and traditional media platforms had it that the former WAFA coach and Asante Kotoko coach has resigned after a board and management meeting amidst heated verbal exchanges and disagreement.
Asante Kotoko finished first in the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier league campaign with 67 points.
Information also had it that the top hierarchy of the club disagreed with Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum's decision to bring in seventeen players and sack ten players ahead of the 2022/2023 campaign. He is also owed four months salary and the club wast present at the one week funeral observation of the late Father of the coach, which has infuriated the coach.
The club is expected to commence it's preseason training and games ahead of the Champions league playoffs and the season which is expected to begin next month.
Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum hasn't communicated to the media of his resignation yet.
