Palmeiras youngster and Liverpool transfer target Endrick Felipe is said to be of interest to Barcelona
Palmeiras youngster and Liverpool transfer target Endrick Felipe is said to be of interest to Barcelona, who have entered 'behind the scenes' talks with the Brazilian club.
Endrick turned 16 on Thursday, making him qualified to sign his first professional agreement at Palmeiras, yet like numerous Brazilian prospects, a transition to Europe looks set to be not too far off.
The Brazilian wonder has scored 170 goals in 172 youth games for Palmeiras and looks set for a major cash move to Europe, in the event that he can continue this stellar goalscoring record for the first-group.
The 16-year-old has been subject of interest for some of Europe's top clubs, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Despite having never played a round of senior football, his agreement includes a €60 million release clause that expires in 2025.
Reports have suggested that the forward is looking to take action overseas when he turns 18 in 2024, and clubs have previously been laying the basis for a possible move for the youngster.
According to Catalan everyday Sport, Spanish giants Barcelona are said to have previously been in touch with Palmeiras behind the scenes and set themselves up through 'backchannel talks' with the Brazilian club.
Some of Spain's biggest sides have had tremendous success buying from Brazil, with the likes of Neymar and Vinicius Junior just a couple of the stars to have made their names.
Barcelona have previously had a busy transfer window, having paid large cash for the likes of Raphinha and Lewandowski, despite their proven and factual financial problems.
Whether Barca will have the funds to secure Endrick's signing is yet to be seen, yet there's no question the Catalan side will give their very best in request to not miss out on the following Brazilian superstar.
Yet, If he were to take action to the Premier League, he would be following in the footsteps of kinsman Gabriel Jesus, who joined Manchester City from Palmeiras in 2016.
In the event that Jesus' vocation is anything to go by, a transition to England could be ideal for Endrick, who will presumably have a plenty of top sides coming after his signature.
