Ondo's state police command said that he had arrested a woman, Funmi Mogbojuri, for allegedly stolen a day for a day.

The police said that the 35 -year -old suspect had stolen the baby in Sabo, in the state's local government area of ??the state and took him to Sagamu, in Ogun.

Ondo's state public relations officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, said the suspect was arrested while baptized the stolen baby.

She said: "A Abass Issah on Arikawe Street, Okitipupa, came to the station and reported that her newborn was stolen by strangers. The discreet survey of the Okitipupa divisional police led to the arrest of Funmi Mogbojuri, who fled with the baby in Makun, Sagamu in the state of Ogun.

“During the interrogation, she admitted to having fled with the baby at her husband's house. It was also discovered that she had already stolen another baby on January 16, 2021 in Okitipupa. She took the child to Igbokoda and gave it to a chance and said that the child died a few days later. »»

Mogbojuri also said that she had two children for her first husband, but her family had denied her access.

She said, "It was not intentional. I'm just going to implore the Nigerians to forgive me. Really, I stole the child and I did it to take good care of the child. I have already given birth, but I have never had a child for the husband with whom I am currently. I just like the child; That’s why I removed the child because I didn’t design for my current husband.

"The husband I married now knew nothing about the situation. I lied to him that I was pregnant. This is the second time that I will take away a child. »»

The baby's mother, Binta Alhassan, said that Mogbojuri came to their house and had asked to spend the night the day she put in bed, which she forced.

She said, "She had a friend in our house before, which she always visited, but the man no longer lives in our house. This is how we knew her. She came the evening of the day I went to bed that she was blocked in Okitipupa and had no place to sleep.

“We allowed him to spend the night in one of the vacant parts; We even gave her food to eat that night, not knowing that she had a mission. To my surprise, the next morning, along the bathroom, the woman had disappeared with the baby, which I had not even breastfed at that time. It was after five days that the police found and arrested her
