"President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is part of the criminal syndicate at the Jubilee House" - Martin Kpebu
Private legal practitioner and human rights activists, Martin Kpebu has made serious allegations against President Akufo-Addo.
Reacting to the recent Ghana Statistical Service and the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice's findings on how endemic bribery and corruption is prevalent in the Ghanaian society, he described the President as part of a syndicate deeply involved in corruption.
"I think so far the President, probably, has not heard; maybe, we need to repeat it more forcefully for him to hear that he is part of the criminal syndicate at the Jubilee house. The President is certainly part. All these corruption cannot happen without the President's involvement".
The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) and the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) recently released a comprehensive finding on corruption and it's related offences.
State institutions such as the Ghana Police Service, Immigration Service, Prisons Service, Passport office, Ghana Education Service (GES), Judiciary and others were cited as the most corrupt institutions. The Police Service was the number one on the list. An estimated amount of $5 billion is lost through corruption and it's related offences annually in the country.
Speaking on Joy News' Newsfile hosted by Lawyer Samson Lardi Anyenini, the private legal practitioner expressed angst at the level of corrupt practices in the country, called for leadership in cracking the whip and described the seat of government as the headquarters of the endemic canker derailing the Ghanaian society.
"The President is part of the criminal syndicate at the Jubilee house and the headquarters of corruption in Ghana is the seat of government", he stated.
Mr. Kpebu however expressed disappointment in the President, recalling his words prior to the 2016 elections which birthed the administration.
