Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool and Manchester City had comparable transfer windows following the title race last season.

For the second time in four seasons, Liverpool finished a single point behind Manchester City in the Premier League table, missing out on the title despite only losing two games.

The Reds have responded by signing Darwin Nunez for a club-record fee, as well as teenagers Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay.

But it still feels like they need to do more, especially given how champions Manchester City have approached their defense thus far by bringing in Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, and Kalvin Phillips.

Pep Guardiola's team is also in talks with Brighton about Marc Cucurella, while Tottenham, Arsenal, and Chelsea have also been active in the transfer market.

Tottenham has added six players to their first-team squad, Chelsea is investing heavily under new owner Todd Boehly, and Arsenal have been the top spenders in the Premier League thus far.

In a wide-ranging interview with Sky Sports, Klopp referred to Manchester City's incredible strength in being able to sell three players to the latter two London clubs.

"I cannot say that the others have made a massive mistake in the transfer market so far," he said.

Tottenham were clearly heading in the right direction with their signings last season. Man City has not only brought in new players, but they have also given two to Arsenal and one to Chelsea.

We're in a situation where you can't always stick with the same team. You require new blood and legs. City is in a similar situation to us, and we handled it similarly. They will all have fantastic football players in the end, just like we will. It's a matter of who makes the most of it.

Everyone has the same opportunity. We will make every effort to distribute it all. The main goal in this league is always to qualify for the Champions League, which is already a difficult task.

"You do that when you reach that point and there is still time to compete for the title." People may not appreciate it when you qualify for it four or five years in a row, but the Champions League places will be fiercely contested.

Everyone wants to win the Premier League, but I'm not sure who will be able to do so. We're hoping to have the best season possible and are looking forward to it.
