Immigration boss calls for effective coordination among security agencies.
Mr Kwame Asuah Takyi, Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI), has emphasized the importance of security agencies cooperating and promoting healthy corporate relations among state institutions.
According to the CGI, this would significantly improve national security.
"Security institutions could perform better and more credibly when there is effective coordination among themselves from the leadership level to the operational levels of personnel," he said.
Mr Asuah Takyi stated that when Commissioner of Police (COP) Maame Yaa Tiwaah Addo-Danquah paid a working visit to his office in Accra, the Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) paid a working visit.
The visit is part of the EOCO's stakeholder engagement strategy, which it has implemented since the appointment of its new CEO.
COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, for her part, expressed gratitude to the GIS for its consistent support role with EOCO over the years.
As a result, she advocated for a renewed corporate relationship to deepen the two institutions' existing collaboration.
Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, COP, praised the GIS for its role in the implementation of some major EOCO policies that required external stakeholder support, particularly in joint operations.
"EOCO and GIS should continue to collaborate to eradicate economic crime in Ghana through stricter border controls and effective immigration enforcement," she said.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Executive Director of EOCO, Madam Aba J. Opoku, and other EOCO Directors, the Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration (DCGI), Mr Laud Ofori Affrifah, who is responsible for Command Post and Operations, DCGI Isaac Owusu Mensah, who is responsible for Finance and Administration, Deputy Commissioner of Immigration Isaac Luortey, who is responsible for Operations, and the Chief Staff Officer, Assistant.

The late Kenneth Anewanah who owns several businesses in the Upper East Region, has hundreds of employees and is also a key distributor of the Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited(GGBL).
Close sources revealed to MyNewsGh.com that he was admitted at an unnamed health facility some few days ago and was recuperating only to go into a coma on Saturday before dying.
Several persons from the Upper East Region, including former and current Ministers, lawmakers and persons from the political divide have been distraught following the news of his passing.
Tributes have since been pouring in for the man many described as an epitome of humility.
