Hello my dear neighbors, Felicitations from Bad Advice Inc. HQ, sorry we didn't serve you up with your weekly dose of unruly advice. Today is another day and we'll visit your tent with a tablespoon of our advice, hoping it works like it always does. So in the next two episodes I'll be revisiting some of the stories I've heard from my childhood mass days, I hope you enjoy them.
The first of the stories for this episode was told by parish priest Fr. Matthew Tufffuor Amoah told us that once upon a time in a story there lived a childless poor couple who lived alone on the fringes of their community, almost all members of the community despised them because of their predicament, it must be noted that the man was also blind. One day God visited and they entertained him well and God was moved by their humanity and decided to grant them one wish. He called the couple and told them to ask for the one thing they desperately needed for [God] to do for them, after moments of silence and quiet contemplation the man said, “Lord, I want to see my children eat from the golden bowl. ' and by the end of the year the couple were blessed with twins, wealth and the man's sight was restored.
The second story was a story I heard from Rev. P. Gregory Afful, just this Sunday (17/07/22) he also talked about a poor couple who lived on their farms with their daughter one afternoon when the man was working on the farm they visited three men, she is a wife at home, and when they met the woman, they introduced themselves as Love, Wealth and Wealth. They said they were going on a long journey, but they wanted one of them to stay with the family, but that person should be the couple's choice, given the mysterious nature of the woman's request to consult with her husband. they were making decisions together when a man came and heard of the situation at hand he realized that love was very old and could die at any time if they chose him so he called his own to make a decision but after a few hours they couldn't come to a conclusion because the wife wanted wealth and the husband wanted wealth. The room was heated as their daughter cried out in disappointment that 'you are so self-centered that you can't show me love', they paused for a moment and concluded with a strong smile that they would choose love. When they came out and announced their influenced decision to choose love, they heard Riches and Riches say that they could not leave their old man Love, for he was their leader and they lived and prospered by his word and deeds.
Beloved, the above stories may not be new to you or you may consider them as one of those stories, but what I want to point out are the answers that people gave in both stories; if it were left to me and you, we would rush our answers and give an impulsive answer that would do us no good. I humbly ask you that whenever you have to answer or make a decision, stop for a moment and think about the consequences of your answer. Realize that we are a product of the decisions we make with wonder or the answers we give, it is always prudent to think about yourself, your situation and the consequences of your choice before you answer someone or decide something, never make a decision or answer based on impulse, someone's pressure or lifestyle and mainly on the wings of some bad decision from years past as you live with the regret or happiness of the answer or decision you make. Sometimes you don't have to answer or decide and leave it to nature, unless of course, remember that "life is a mystery, it must be lived forward, but it must be understood backward (Sorensen Kiekegaard)".
