HOW TO MANAGE EXAMINATION ANXIETY.
Examination Anxiety is defined as a fear of failing that a student feels before or while taking an examination which prevents the student from performing as well as he or she otherwise could on the examination.
These are the following ways to manage examination anxiety.
1. Improve your study skills to build competence and confidence: This can be done through proper time management and strong self discipline. Let me add that you can not properly manage your time if you do not have a personal time table that guides and helps you organise yourself.
2. Learn to Cope with the anxiety: If you experience high-levels of anxieties about your examinations, you will have to use both strategies. If you only learn to Cope with anxieties without improving on your study skills, this can make you feel calmer but will not improve your performance. On the other hand, if you improve your study skills, but cannot master your anxious feelings, you may not be able to perform your optimal level.
If you have studied appropriately for your examination and you are still overreacting or panicking, then you may be suffering from examination anxieties.
