ARIKÉ'S POV
I sat down in the waiting room quietly with Diamond beside me. I looked at her to study her expression, she looked sad, I shook my head.
IT must have been really hard to go through what she went through or what she's going through. Soon David came out and sat beside us.
"You can go see her now" he said to Diamond and she nodded , she stood up and followed the direction David came out from.
"Are you alright?" I asked looking at David and he smiled
"I'm fine.. I'm sorry for calling you on such short notice"
"What? Come on David it's fine, you can call me anytime any day, you should know that" he smiled and brought me closer in a hug with my head resting on his chest.
"Everything is going to be fine" I said with a low voice.
After some minutes with all of us meeting with David's mother, we all went our separate ways, I was to have a lecture in thirty minutes time so I took the first taxi I saw to the lecture hall...
*THREE DAYS LATER
I walked with Ha-eun into the restaurant she called me to, and instantly I recognized it, it was the place we went to where I saw Lorenzo for the first time.
"It's been long since we've had a proper girls time isn't it?" Ha-eun said as we walked to a table and sat down on the chair.
"Hmm I wonder why we are here" I said with an eye roll teasing her
"What do you mean by that? I'm just hungry aren't you?"
"Hu hun.. hungry for food or Dominican?" I asked with a wink and watched her blush, gosh why aren't they dating yet? just as I was wondering, Lorenzo walked to our table with orders in his hands.
"Good day ladies" he said and when our eyes met he looked like he became shy.. hold on did I miss something?
"Ahem... Is there something I'm missing?" I couldn't hold it in anymore so I asked.
"What no! , Lorenzo we would have our usual" Ha-eun said dismissively and he walked back to the kitchen.
"Poor guy" I blurted out making Ha-eun frown
"What do you mean by that?"
"Uh... I didn't mean anything"
"Come on Kathrine, what do you mean?"
"Alright.. it's obvious something happened between you guys, so why do you have to deny him like that?"
"I didn't deny him.. I'm just not ready to date him yet"she said and I covered my mouth
"He asked you out!!'
"It's not a big deal though why are you acting this way?"
"Come on girl, you should have said yes, you have been crushing on him for this long only to say no to him.. I guess people are right then, we women don't really know what we want"
"Don't be like that..." She began to say but someone cut in
"Hi, can I join this table please?" She asked and we both looked at her weirdly
"No" Ha-eun said before I could speak
"It seems the other seats are filled" I said looking at the girl " come on seat" I said to her and she smiled picking out a chair , she sat down. Ha-eun kept staring at me like she was angry at me
"So... I'm Storm, what are your names? If you don't mind me asking" she said again and I could swear Ha-eun was about to shut her up
"I'm Kathrine, she's ..."
"Nobody" Ha-eun instantly said and I looked at her strangely
"Pardon my friend here, I'm Kathrine Nursing major" I said to the girl with a bright smile
"Ohh I'm Storm, English major, it's nice to meet you Kathrine" she said and I nodded
"Me too" I replied and Lorenzo approached our table with our orders.
After having lunch with Ha-eun,I went over to David's house, everything has been peaceful since what happened last three days , David's mother had been discharged and was speedily recovering at home, nobody had heard anything about Peaches mother and we were all grateful for that fact.
I walked through the gate of the compound and went straight into the house without knocking since I was already used to it. I met David in the sitting room on a phone call.
"Sure dude, I'd be glad to" he said before hanging up and coming to hug me.
"Who was.." I tried saying but he shut me up with a kiss , that was another thing I was used to..
"Good evening"
"Good evening, how are you?" I said as he broke the hug
"I'm better now that you are here" he replied and I let out a little laugh
"Who was that on the phone?"
"A new friend of mine" he said with a shrug " also a big fan too, I might add" he said with a chuckle while I smiled.
"Everyone should be a big fan of you.. you are just that perfect"
"I know right?" He said teasingly and we both laughed " I want to take you out tomorrow though"
"Really? Is it to somewhere fancy?"
"You'll see just know when a Richmond wants to take you out your mind would definitely be blown" he replied and I smiled feeling special.
"Alright Richmond I see you" I said raising my eyebrows simultaneously
"How's the credit card though? Do you want another? You barely use it why is that?"
"David. I'm not bent on spending all your money so be calm"
"But what if I want you to?"
"Ehn? " I said looking at him , my African dialect taking the best of me
"What if I want you to spend the whole money?"
"I don't want to" I replied stubbornly
"Well I want you to go all out for this dinner though" he said and I gasped
"So it's a dinner huh?" I teased and watched him smile
"That's all you need to know" he said before standing up and heading to the kitchen, I couldn't hide my smile, aside all the distractions and hurdles that we've had to jump... Just how did I get this lucky?
*SOMEWHERE IN USA
AUTHOR'S POV
Rose was seated at a table in a very dark room, the only source of light was the dim chandelier hanging above where she was seated.
"What's the plan?" The other person in the room asked in his rich deep voice
"It's more of a slow poison this time and I would love to attack from a distance"
"Well have you put any of your plans into actions?"
"Yes father, right from the day I left England" she smiled " they wouldn't know what hit them, I'll take away every single important being to them" she boasted with a dangerous laughter.
"You are your father's daughter, I'm so proud of you" the other person replied.
"I'll be in touch, father" she said standing up from her seat.
Meanwhile at the back of the door, Peaches stood there listening to every single word that was spoken, she instantly gasped as her eyes grew wide, she couldn't believe what she heard, does that mean her mother was a murderer?.
As she heard the sound of someone walking towards the door she quickly ran out of the visitors area and went into her mother's car.
When she entered the car her heart began to beat fast, who was her mother talking about ? What can she do in a situation like this? Questions upon questions kept ringing in her brain.
