Today's presentation of the mid-year budget for 2022

According to Mr. Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, the deputy majority leader, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, the finance minister, will deliver the mid-year review budget statement, economic policy, and supplemental estimate of government to Parliament on Monday, July 25.
According to the Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), the Minister of Finance was scheduled to deliver the Mid-Year Review Budget Statement, Economic Policy, and Supplementary Estimate of the Government of Ghana for the 2022 Financial to the House on Monday, July 25, according to Mr. Afenyo-Markin, who presented the Business Statement of the House for the week ending Thursday, July 28.
The Deputy Majority Leader advised House members to remember the presentation date and make themselves available. On Tuesday, July 26th, a debate on the budget motion was scheduled. On Wednesday, July 27th, the leadership would wrap up the debate with their own submissions on the motion.
He announced that the House's sitting will start promptly at 9:00 am on Thursday, July 28, the day the House was scheduled to adjourn sine die, to allow for an early adjournment.
According to Mr. Afenyo-Markin, the House Business Committee asked Committees that had received referrals to do their work quickly so that the House could examine it.
In keeping with this, the Committee is also urging all of the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to bring any pressing government matter before or during the sine die adjournment to Parliament. Declared the Deputy Majority Leader.
Though the government hasn't formally stated how much the levy has brought in after two months, rumors say that it is only collecting 10% of the anticipated revenue.
According to estimates, the government hoped to raise GH600 million from the 1.5% tax on electronic financial transactions.
The levy's income projection for the government is GH4.5 billion in 2022.
