Kingsley Coman chooses his beloved English club over Man Utd, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

The France and Bayern Munich playmaker, who has scored the game-winning goal in a Champions League final, was questioned which English club he supports, and it turns out it is a League One club.

When asked which English club he supports, Kingsley Coman strangely chose a League One side.

The Bayern Munich winger has won league titles in France, Germany, and Italy, as well as scoring the game-winning goal in the Champions League final. When asked to pick his favorite team from the United Kingdom, he chose a third-tier club rather than the perhaps expected Manchester United, Liverpool, or Arsenal.

In an interview with ESPN, the 26-year-old was asked about a variety of topics. One of the questions was, "Who would you support if you had to support a team in the UK?"

After a brief pause, he replied, "Bolton," with a cheeky grin on his face.

When questioned why, he replied, "Even though I used to like this team when I was younger."

Coman was most likely referring to the Trotters' golden era in the 2000s, when they spent 11 consecutive seasons in the Premier League. Under legendary manager Sam Allardyce, they finished in the top eight four times in a row between 2004 and 2007. They also established a reputation as a team greater than the sum of its parts, causing numerous upsets and reaching Europe.

Unfortunately for the Trotters, their time in the top flight came to an end in 2012. They have been relegated three times since then, but are now preparing for a return to League One after victory advancement from the fourth tier in 2021.

In an interview with Mirror Football earlier this year, defender Nicky Hunt mentioned Allardyce's pulling power when it came to ability to attract big names.

"Jay-Jay Okocha was excellent, with his range of passing and techniques," Hunt said, "but Fernando Hierro is the best overall package I've played with." He was only there for a short time, but his entire aura, professionalism, and experience were invaluable. He was very approachable, but he was also very interested in how we all got through the academy and our individual stories. He demonstrated what a first-rate gentleman he was.

"We were just not perspectival; most of these players were nearing the end of their careers rather than at their peak." But Ivan (Campo), Youri (Djorkaeff), and Jay-Jay were fantastic, and Sam went out of his way to meet them.

"I doubt they would have signed if it hadn't been for the personal touch. That must have made them feel very wanted."

Bolton kick off the new League One season at Ipswich Town on Saturday, just six days before Coman's Bayern kick off their quest for an 11th consecutive Bundesliga title against Eintracht Frankfurt.
