Jurgen Klopp has stated that Liverpool will react if Roberto Firmino decides to join Juventus.
Liverpool goalscorer Roberto Firmino is heading into the final year of his contract at Anfield, and according to reports in Italy, Juventus would be willing to spend big money to sign him this summer.
Juventus are making preparations a second offer for Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino after their first bid was 'laughed off' by Anfield officials.
Signed in the springtime of 2015, months before Jurgen Klopp was appointed Reds manager, the Brazilian has proven to be one of the club's shrewdest acquisitions of the modern era, remaining a mainstay in the side during their recent successes.
Firmino led the line for Klopp's side during their Champions League triumph in 2019 and their historic Premier League title triumph the following year. Now in the final year of his Merseyside contract, the 30-year-old has fallen down the pecking order due to the arrivals of Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, and, most recently, Darwin Nunez.
Firmino, a member of Liverpool's legendary front three, has already outlasted Sadio Mane, who joined Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window. While Mohamed Salah has signed a new long-term contract, Firmino's future remains uncertain, and his departure may force Klopp to look for a replacement.
According to TuttoJuve, Juventus made an official bid for the versatile forward, but their £19.5 million bid was turned down. After Alvaro Morata returned to Atletico Madrid at the end of his two-year contract, Massimiliano Allegri is looking for a striker to complement Dusan Vlahovic.
The Bianconeri manager is now looking for a replacement, with reports suggesting Firmino and Manchester United striker Anthony Martial are on his wishlist. A move for the Liverpool star appears to be moving forward, with TuttoJuve speculating that an improved bid could be on the way.
They contend there is a belief among Kop executives that they should cash in on the player or possibly lose him on a free transfer next summer. Klopp has consistently defended Firmino's performances and has been one of his staunchest supporters over the years.
According to the ECHO, he is more likely to push to keep him for another season due to the low cost of any deal at this point. However, the German has also stated that the only way any more incomings will be approved during this window is if players leave.

Along with Nunez from Benfica, Liverpool has signed Fulham's exciting Portuguese starlet Fabio Carvalho and Edinburgh's highly rated defender Calvin Ramsay. Aside from that, it appears that business on the city's red side is shut down, unless senior members of the squad leave before the September 1 deadline.
When asked about possibility absences, he responded, "Have I ever spoken about it in situations like this? You get the results - not the process!"
In addition to losing Mane to Bayern, Klopp has lost Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi to Monaco and Milan, respectively.
Liverpool's pre-season will conclude later this week when they face RB Salzburg in Austria before returning to the UK to face Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium. A week later, they travel to Craven Cottage to face newly promoted Fulham in the Premier League title race.
