Oppo Watch 3 May Not Launch Globally
Oppo has always launched its smartwatches in China before an international release, and this year is not expected to be any different. So even though the Oppo Watch 3 is slated to arrive next month, this date could be for the launch in China, while a global rollout is likely to happen later, if at all. Considering the Oppo Watch 2 never got a global release just like the Oppo Find N, it won't be surprising if the same applies to the Oppo Watch 3.
According to a post on Weibo by the Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Watch 3 series will have three models with model numbers “OWW211”, “ OWW212”, and “OWW213.” The Oppo Watch 2 was also launched in three variants, two of which had a 42mm case while the third had a 46mm case. The source further revealed that all three will have curved square dials like the original Oppo Watch, a high screen-to-body ratio, a long-lasting battery life, and black, silver, dark gray, and light gold colors.
Battery life is one of the key upgrades with Qualcomm's Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip, and the Oppo Watch 3 will most likely have its own tricks to further extend this. Taking the Oppo Watch 2 as an example, the smartwatch boasts four-day battery life that can extend to 16 days, and it is able to achieve this thanks to its dual-chip dual-OS design. Alongside the Snapdragon 4100, the smartwatch also has a second processor called the Apollo4s, a low-power SoC that handles certain tasks such as notifications and health tracking.
On the software side, the Oppo Watch 2 shipped with both the Android-based ColorOS in addition to the lightweight operating system, RTOS. The former allows owners to use Android apps while the latter is for health and fitness tracking. Oppo designed the watch to automatically switch between the two chips and operating systems based on usage. This explains why its battery can last up to 16 days when in RTOS mode. The Oppo Watch 3 series is likely to feature a similar solution.

Corrections, criticisms and the like are welcome as usual. They keep me on my toes and on the look out for much information. Since information is key in this day and age.
