AUTHOR'S POV
As Peaches mother opened the car door Peaches couldn't help but shiver a little.
"Honey are you alright?" Her mother asked and she nodded profusely without saying a word. The ride back to their house was a silent one, with a million thoughts running through Peaches mind. When they got to the house Peaches instantly alighted from the car and began to walk inside as fast as her legs could take her.
"Honey" he mother called when they were both in the sitting room.
"Yeah?"
"I'll be in my secret study, remember if you need me, call me on the phone alright?"
"Sure mum" Peaches replied and with that she went into her room.
Her mind wasn't at peace, had she been living her whole life with a murderer? She began to pace up and down in her room, there was nobody to call since she had used her bad attitude to chase all her friends away, she collapsed on the floor and began to cry silently, what kind of life had she been living?
She remembered how she would talk to Diamond about everything bothering her but recently Diamond hasn't been picking her calls. She sighed and an idea popped up in her head... What if she sneaks into her mother's secret study to find out what she has been hiding. She also noticed that every single house that her parents ever owned always had a secret study which she wasn't allowed to enter. She nodded wiping her tears that's exactly what she would do.
*AT THE RICHMOND'S MANSION
MRS RICHMOND was seated on the bed in her room with her leg carefully placed on it. The pain had reduced over the past few days and she was feeling a lot better, but emotionally her mind wasn't calm, she still couldn't take the picture of her childhood best friend firing a bullet at her.
As she was deep in thoughts, her husband rushed into the room and went to his closet.
"You are home early what's wrong?"
"I came for an outfit change, how are you?" He asked coming towards her to peck her on her cheek "How's the leg injury?" He added and she nodded with a fake smile, she had lied to her husband that she got injured in the kitchen.
"Darling , have a seat with me please I would like to tell you somethings" she pleaded and he obliged sitting down beside her on the bed.
"Is everything alright?"
"I have just a kidney in me"
"How . Why.. when?" He asked confused
"I got to know when I graduated from highschool, and it was Rose who donated hers to me"
"Oh.. wow"
"I'm so sorry honey, I should have told you this beforehand, but I didn't know how you would take it" she said as tears escaped her eyelids
"Hey" he said gently bringing her closer " it alright, let's be grateful for life"
"No honey you wouldn't understand"
"Why do you say so?"
"Rose is hell bent on David getting married to Peaches, she did this to my leg, honey.. she shot me" Mrs Richmond said finally confessing
"What do you mean by she shot you?" He said angrily, springing up from the bed.
"She kidnapped Diamond too, but she's free now" she added and the look on her husband's face spoke of raw disbelief and anger, he couldn't tryst himself to speak, he shook his head and heaved in a deep sigh.
"Now she's stepped on the lion's feet " he said with a scary look on his face.
*AT DIAMOND'S SCHOOL
DIAMOND was just coming out of the lecture room amongst other students that attended the same class with her, she was focused on the article she was reading on her phone that she did not notice when she bumped into someone, her phone fell crashing hard on the ground , she instantly bent down and picked it up.
"I'm so sorry" she heard his deep voice and that was when she looked up, the redness of her blood quickly rushed to her cheeks, she shook her head slightly and smiled.
"No it's fine" she said shyly and the man smiled too revealing dimples, there were other people walking around them but at that moment it felt as if the world stopped, Diamond couldn't believe the attractiveness of this stranger.
"I'm Dominic" he said stretching his hand out for a shake which Diamond took almost immediately.
"I'm Diamond, it's er.. nice to meet you ...I guess"
"It would have been better if I didn't break your phone on the first meeting" he said with a smirk making Diamond chuckle
"It's nothing that can't be fixed right?"
"I guess.. can I like take you to a place where you can get it fixed? I would feel bad if you say no" he added and Diamond nodded Feeling a little bit excited.
"Okay.." her voice trailed off and they began to walk towards the same direction.
*IN THE EVENING
ARIKÉ'S POV
"I want that sparkle or whatever it is called around my eye.. just like the girl in euphoria" I said to Ha-eun and she nodded and continued with the makeup
"That's a little bit club 'ish' isn't it?"
"Girl there's nothing decent about the blood red sexy gown you bought for me, so why not just do the makeup" I said and she nodded without argument. Soon my phone rang and I clicked on it, it was a text message from Storm (the girl they met at the restaurant) , Storm was asking if she could hang out with me. I sighed as Ha-eun dropped the makeup brush and walked away from my front, giving me the chance to finally look at myself, I gasped a little , my face looked great.. no perfect extremely perfect.
"Thanks Ha-eun.. you are really good at this" I said to her , turning to look at her that was when I noticed her taking off her clothes .
"Where are you headed?"
"To a frat party, why? You are allowed to have fun so am I girl" she replied and I laughed
"Calm down Ha-eun, I'm not disputing that .. just
.. er.. can I invite Storm?"
"What?" Ha-eun frowned turning to look at me
"It's just that she asked if she could hang out with me.. and since you are about to have fun why not go with her?"
"I'm going with Lorenzo Kathrine, and why the f*ck are you talking to her anyways?" Ha-eun said making me frown
" I'm trying to make new friends" I replied defensively
"You shouldn't trust everyone you see around here you know, I don't know when you guys exchanged numbers but be careful Kathrine, this is Birmingham"
"Yes Ha-eun, I understand can she still come though?" I asked and Ha-eun glared at me making me shut up instantly. I sat down on my bed and wore my shoes, soon the my phone buzzed a bit, I picked it up and read the text message , it was from David telling me to come outside. I put on my shoes and went to hug Ha-eun , I pecked her on the cheek telling her goodbye before walking out of our hostel.
I walked to the point where David usually drops me off whenever I was coming from his house, and I saw a shining black Ferrari car with David in a blue suit standing beside it, I gasped Feeling the butterflies in my stomach going crazy, I took my steps carefully, walking towards him.
When I got to him, I hugged him tightly with a huge smile on my face.
"You look amazing" he whispered to my ear and I stopped hugging him to look at him
"You look even better" I said with a smile and he was about to speak but I quickly added " David let's not argue about this" I said and he nodded and opened the door of the car for me and I got in, he got in too.
"Here, I want you to put this on" he said handing over a blindfold to me, I collected it without arguing and tied it around my eyes, soon I heard the ignition of the car and David began to drive. It felt so tiring but yet exciting to be putting on a blindfold, during the ride there where time I seriously wanted to take it off but I decided not to.
Soon we arrived at the place and David opened my door , using his hands to guide me out of the car since I still had the blindfold on. When o got out.
"Can I take it off?" I asked but he replied in the negative. He guided me and we entered something that felt like an elevator, the elevator took a lot of time before it stopped making me wonder how high the place was. Soon he guided me out of the elevator and I obliged. I took off the blindfold and opened my eyes the view that I got was nothing like I was expecting, it was way above my expectations,I gasped and covered my mouth, walking around the place.
"It's so beautiful" I said close to tears, the place was extremely decorated with flowers and candles and the floor had little petals of roses, I went to the end of the room and looked through the glass, it was like I could see the top of all the houses in Birmingham.
"How high above are we?" I asked and he laughed
"100 ft" he replied and I gasped again this time I was crying.
"This is all so amazing, it's weird how you have to put yourself through a this trouble " I said and he shook his head
"No.. doing it for you didn't make it seem like trouble, Kathrine, I love you so much and I know we have been through a lot within this short expense of time and there are more hurdles to come but I'd rather jump these hurdles with you , I'm saying.." he paused and walked over to me taking my hands in his " Would you be my girlfriend?" He asked and a smile formed on my face, I wasn't expecting this at all, my eyes were extremely teary at this point
"Yes David, I would be your girlfriend.. I love you" I said and he smiled too, wiping off the tears from my face.
"You have no idea how happy I am right now" he said and we both laughed.
"I love you" I repeated and leaned in taking the lead to kiss him this time.
