Aro Muric Completes Permanent Transfer To Burnley

Aro Muric has completed a £2.5 million transfer to Burnley. Muric joins CJ Egan-Riley and Taylor Harwood-Bellis at Turf Moor, under the management of City legend Vincent Kompany. The goalkeeper, who made 31 appearances in the Super Lig in Turkey during the 2021/22 season, had numerous loan spells at NAC Breda, Nottingham Forest, Girona and Willem II. Muric made five senior appearances for Manchester City. The Kosovan featured in five Carabao Cup matches during the 2018/19 season, making his debut in a 3-0 win against Oxford United. Muric becomes Burnley's latest signing of the summer, joining for an initial £2.5 million. City have included a sell-on and buy-back clause in the 23 year-olds contract, according to Mike Minay of BBC Sport. The Clarets, who were relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the season, appointed Kompany as Sean Dyche's replacement at the Lancanshire club earlier this summer. Muric had been heavily linked with a move to Turf Moor following the departure of England international Nick Pope. The young goalkeeper is the second shot-stopper to be sold by the Sky Blues this summer. Following an impressive campaign with Portsmouth in League One, Ireland international Gavin Bazunu signed for Southampton in an initial £12 million deal. Guardiola has also recruited a new goalkeeper for his squad, with Stefan Ortega signing for City from Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga. Meanwhile, Zack Steffen has joined Middlesbrough on a season-long loan. The Championship season begins next weekend, with Kompany's Burnley travelling to Huddersfield on Friday 29th July. Muric won one piece of silverware with Manchester City. The Kosovo international has signed a four-year contract at Turf Moor.

DONE DEAL: Burnley sign permanently Man City keeper Aro Muric

Burnley have signed Manchester City goalkeeper Arijanet Muric on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old made five appearances for City, all in the League Cup, and is Burnley's eighth signing of the summer. He's the third player Vincent Kompany's Clarets have signed from City, after CJ Egan-Riley and Taylor Harwood-Bellis. "I am very happy to be here, I can't wait to meet my new team-mates now and begin training," Muric said. "I'm 23 now, so I feel it is the right time to move on and I'm looking forward to the new season." Muric joined City from Grasshoppers in 2015 and had loan spells with NAC Breda, Nottingham Forest, Girona, Willem II and Adana Demirspor while with the club.
