Ghana is a country whose economy was very princely and light after her freedom in 1957. As per the set of experiences about the then monetary sources and realities, our British frontier aces, along with our initial architects, set up an economical monetary technique from 1951 to1956 to gather an excess for possible later use of a colossal actual monetary abundance of more than 500 (500) million pounds. This was the heritage which was given over to our first and late President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

Furthermore, simply envision a little nation like Ghana with a sensible populace of somewhat over six (6) million individuals with a colossal monetary spine in the last part of the 50s; yet inside a short space of nine (9) years, the country's economy became drained, making her so powerless and debilitated with the end result of stunning like a slight lush heading towards a trench.

That result impelled the country to change her cash from Ghana pounds to cedis and was subsequently depreciated barbarously. So might be, this and numerous different variables like the revision of Ghana's constitution to make Ghana a one-party state with Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah as the existence president, provoked the military to organize the main rebellion in Ghana on 24th February, 1966.

Following three (3) long periods of unpleasant military rule and in 1969, Ghana directed another overall political race; a political tree of the NPP, then known as the Progress Party (PP), arose as the victor to sit on the chief tossed of the State with the late Prof. Kofi Abrefa Busia as the Prime Minister.

Being the speed setter in the country's governmental issues, economy and reasonable public arrangements, the late Prof. K. A. Busia's administration started the most common way of restoring the wrecked and chaotic economy of Ghana through a continuous guiding back towards ordinariness.
