James Milner Reveals Which New Liverpool Signing Has Fit In Well At The Club

The Uruguayan joined Liverpool from Benfica earlier this summer for a fee of up to £85 million and traveled with the Reds to Asia, Germany, and Austria as part of their pre-season schedule.

Klopp's team bounced back from a 4-0 loss to rivals Manchester United in Bangkok by defeating Crystal Palace 2-0 in Singapore and then thrashing RB Leipzig 5-0 at the Red Bull Arena.

In his first game in his new colors, the marquee signing scored four goals against the German team.

Milner, who has been at the Merseyside club since 2015 and has participated in previous pre-season programs under Klopp, has spoken about this year's pre-season preparations and how Nunez has fit in.

The 36-year-old commented on the club's official website:

"I think it's the same every season; it's always tough because you don't know where you stand, no matter how amazing the pre-season has been.""Everyone is definitely all over the place; people are playing different minutes, training at different times, and some players returned later than others." Every team has the same challenges, and it is never simple.

"It's a completely new season; you're not going to start where you left off." All we can do is what we've done every year: work as hard as we can, prepare as well as we can, and get the fitness going.

"It helps that we've had a long time together, with a few clear additions. With the goals he's already established, Darwin (Nunez) doesn't appear to have had too much trouble settling in. That's fantastic to see."All you can do is prepare as best you can and hope to be ready."

That helps because of how long we've been together. We've gone through pre-seasons, ups and downs, won trophies and lost trophies. That is undoubtedly beneficial as we enter a new season."

The Liverpool fans will be relieved by Milner's comments about Nunez.

Despite a strong second half in Germany, the striker failed to score in his first two pre-season games, raising concerns about his fitness.

The 23-year-old comes to England with a proven track record, having scored 34 goals in 41 games for Benfica previous season.
