The Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited's office space was supposed to be funded through a contract, however the Minority in Parliament claims the administration inflated that amount (BOST).

According to John Jinapor, the ranking member of the Mines and Energy Committee, the deal was first signed under the former Mahama government for $39 million but has now been increased to $78 million by the present administration.

"It is obvious that this would result in financial loss for the state. This project ought to be finished at this point. Because they would be leasing out part of their office space, this initiative should have benefited BOST and increased their internal earnings as well. It would have benefited the Company and brought in more revenue, he told the press on Thursday.

Mr. Jinapor expressed dissatisfaction over the circumstance and related it to scandals that have been documented during the Akufo-Addo administration.

The member from Yapei-Kusawgu said that the administration had utilised BOST and other state-run energy organisations as a source of easy money for corrupt activities.

"This is another American deal in the making, another PDS in the making. Another Movenpina controversy is about to break. According to him, the energy industry has developed under the Akufo-Addo administration into a shelter for regularising corruption, inflation, favouritism, and rousted nepotism.

In light of this, he has tasked President Akufo-Addo with directing a quick investigation into the situation.

"It is clear that certain authorities are responsible for and involved in this massive scam. Regarding how the Akufo-Addo-led administration would handle this dilemma, we have no faith in them.

However, he said, "It is our hope that for the first time the President will summon and collect the guts to launch an impartial inquiry into this fraud, which is of colossal scale, and punish his officials whose ignorance and irresponsibility have led us into this massive debt.
